Kaarna Rug

The Kaarna Rug by Sera Helsinki is a classic Juuret design. This Kaarna Rug features a bold diamond criss-cross pattern with a contrasting black border, reflecting the artisanal roots of Ethiopian rug-making and the minimalist aesthetics of Finland. Each Kaarna Rug is available as a hand-knotted or woven version, crafted from pure Ethiopian highland sheep wool that retains its natural lanolin and colour.

Choose from standard sizes of 100 × 210 cm, 170 × 260 cm or 200 × 310 cm, or request a custom size. The woven option combines 50 percent wool and 50 percent cotton warp, while the hand-knotted version uses 80 percent wool and 20 percent cotton warp. Handmade to order in Ethiopia, each rug takes about 2-3 months to produce, and natural variations in size and shade highlight the craftsmanship. The Kaarna Rug offers a durable, graphic statement piece for living rooms or dining areas while supporting ethical production.
