Roots 140 Sofa Bed by Karup Design is a minimalist 3-in-1 sofa bed that shifts from seat to lounger to a low bed for two. Built on an FSC® pine frame with a flexible futon, it’s a smart pick when you’re searching for a compact convertible sofa bed that still feels substantial. The futon mattress uses recycled mixed fiber with a foam core and a cotton/linen cover for a tactile, relaxed look.

In sofa mode, set it along a wall with a small side table for coffee and books, and keep the backrest raised for everyday lounging. When it’s time to sleep, fold it out to a full bed setup that stays close to the floor for an easy, grounded feel. It also works well in a guest room where you want daytime seating without committing to a permanent bed footprint. The simple frame lines help it sit comfortably alongside other wooden furniture and soft textiles without looking busy.

Product Care

Wood: The knots in natural wood furniture are individual characteristics and charisma of each piece of furniture. Not two will look the same. You can expect the natural wood surfaces to change over time when permanently exposed to the climate, sunlight, and humidity fluctuations. General wood care: do not place hot objects on the furniture, do not place candles directly on the furniture, immediately wipe off any spilled liquids with a damp cloth, regularly check if the screws and fittings are tight. Fabric: Mixed fabric is made from 80% cotton and 20% polyester. Do only clean with a dry cloth to prevent stains.
