Description

The Compound Lounge Chair by Mater is designed by OEO Studio and combines aesthetics, function and comfort. Its frame is made from 20% recycled steel, while the seat and backrest are crafted from Matek®, an innovative material that repurposes e -waste mixed with coffee or wood waste. Available in several Matek blends with or without upholstery, the Compound Lounge Chair offers versatile colour and design options. Each chair contains about 5.38 kg of waste, reflecting Mater’s circular approach to design. Suitable for private and public spaces, it delivers durable comfort and a sculptural presence.

Material

Made of our waste material Matek®. The waste materials used for the Matek® come from post-consumer e-waste mixed with either wood or coffee waste, depending on the colour. The base frame is made of 96% recycled, black-painted aluminum.
Product Care

For daily care, it is recommended to dust the surface with a soft cloth. The surface can be cleaned with a soft cloth wrung out in a mild solution of lukewarm water and a universal cleaning detergent. Avoid using abrasive cleaning agents and harsh detergents, as these may damage the surface. Avoid placing Matek™ furniture in direct sunlight, excessive heat, or humidity over longer periods of time, as this can affect the appearance of the material. For tabletops, we always recommend using trivets under hot objects, such as coffee pots and cups, to prevent damage to the surface.
