Elan Bed by Karup Design is a minimalist platform bed frame made for pairing with a futon mattress, with the option to add tatami mats for a Japanese look. Built from pine wood, it keeps the silhouette low and visually light. If you like a closer-to-the-floor sleeping setup, this frame is made to keep the bedding neatly contained while maintaining an open feel.

For daily use, it’s an easy fit in a bedroom where you want the bed to sit quietly in the room rather than dominate it. Pair it with tatami mats under a futon mattress when you want a more structured, layered look. Or place the futon directly in the frame for a more grounded profile. The low height also keeps nightstands and wall lights feeling well-proportioned alongside it.

Wood: The knots in natural wood furniture are individual characteristics and charisma of each piece of furniture. Not two will look the same. You can expect the natural wood surfaces to change over time when permanently exposed to the climate, sunlight, and humidity fluctuations. General wood care: do not place hot objects on the furniture, do not place candles directly on the furniture, immediately wipe off any spilled liquids with a damp cloth, regularly check if the screws and fittings are tight. Fabric: Mixed fabric is made from 80% cotton and 20% polyester. Do only clean with a dry cloth to prevent stains.
