Hippo Sofa by NORR11 settles in as a modern sofa designed for social spaces, with generous curves and continuous cushioning that soften rigid floor plans. Designed by Kristian Sofus Hansen and Tommy Hyldahl in 2022, the structure combines plywood, chipboard, and pine, covered with cut foam. As a living room sofa, it works beautifully placed away from the wall so the distinctive back profile becomes part of the room. Pair it with lounge chairs to keep conversation open from multiple directions, or set it facing a coffee table for everyday reading and streaming. The low back makes it easy to turn and engage with people across the room, which helps the layout feel less formal.
