Description

The E-1027 Wool Rug by Sera Helsinki reinterprets Eileen Gray’s modernist villa E-1027 through textiles. Designed by Samu-Jussi Koski, this E-1027 Wool Rug features blocks of color separated by raised fringe, evoking the architectural lines and textures of the seaside house. Handcrafted in Ethiopia, the E-1027 Wool Rug is woven or handknotted from pure Ethiopian highland sheep wool that retains its natural lanolin for durability and dirt resistance.

Available in standard sizes such as 170 × 240 cm and 200 × 300 cm, with custom dimensions on request, the rug comes in colour combinations like White/White, White/Black, White/Brown or White/Black/Brown. The two heights of the pattern—about 2.5 cm for the raised motif and 1 cm for the base—add depth and softness. Each rug is made to order with a lead time of around two to three months, and slight variations in colour and size highlight its artisan origins. The minimal yet tactile design makes the E-1027 Wool Rug an elegant foundation for living rooms, dining areas or creative studios.
Dimensions
Material

Made of pure Ethiopian highland sheep wool. Thread, knotting, and weaving are entirely handmade. No chemicals were used.
Woven rugs: weaving is made of wool (50%) and warp is made of cotton (50%).
Knotted rugs: knotting is done of wool (80%), and the warp is made of cotton (20%)
Product Care

- woven rugs can be washed with water, just make sure that the rug dries entirely - knotted rugs are recommended to be professionally cleaned
