Description

The Hanki Rug by Sera Helsinki is a classic natural-white wool rug crafted in Ethiopia. Available in hand-knotted or woven versions, each Hanki Rug combines pure Ethiopian highland sheep wool and cotton, reflecting a blend of traditional rug-making and Finnish minimalism.

The Hanki Rug comes in standard sizes 100 × 200 cm, 170 × 240 cm and 200 × 300 cm, with custom sizes on request. Woven rugs use 50% wool and 50% cotton warp, while knotted rugs feature 80% wool and 20% cotton warp. The wool is undyed and retains its natural lanolin, so slight variations in colour and size celebrate its handmade origin. With durable natural fibres and minimalist design, the Hanki Rug makes a timeless foundation for living rooms, bedrooms or offices.

Material

Made of pure Ethiopian highland sheep wool. Thread, knotting, and weaving are entirely handmade. No chemicals were used.
Woven rugs: weaving is made of wool (50%) and warp is made of cotton (50%).
Knotted rugs: knotting is done of wool (80%), and the warp is made of cotton (20%)
Product Care
