Description

The Alder Side Table by Mater is part of the brand’s first collection of biodegradable Matek. Designed by Patricia Urquiola, this side table is made from a mix of biodegradable plastic and coffee shell or wood waste, allowing it to decompose naturally at the end of its life. Offered in four nature-inspired tones (Biodegradable Beige, Light Green, Earth Grey and Terracotta), it brings soft, curvilinear forms and sustainable design to living rooms or lounges. Suitable for indoor use, the Alder Side Table highlights Mater’s commitment to circular design.

Material

Made of wood and Matek® material (Cutting-edge technology allows Mater to make furniture from waste materials in their patented Matek® material by combining fibre with a binder. The Matek® is made by mixing e-waste with either coffee waste from Danish coffee producer BKI Kaffe or wood waste.)
Product Care

For daily care, it is recommended to dust the surface with a soft cloth. The surface can be cleaned with a soft cloth wrung out in a mild solution of lukewarm water and a universal cleaning detergent. Avoid using abrasive cleaning agents and harsh detergents, as these may damage the surface. Avoid placing Matek™ furniture in direct sunlight, excessive heat, or humidity over longer periods of time, as this can affect the appearance of the material. For tabletops, we always recommend using trivets under hot objects, such as coffee pots and cups, to prevent damage to the surface.
